I am starting to design my major show for 2012...my S/S collection for 2013 with with layers of color and pattern, long and short skirts, bulky and burro K...i will start sharing small details starting soon....

it has been fast and pretty furious , my beloved cat of 15 years was diagnosed with kidney failure and possible heart attack, I was beyond myself , I had thought of this day, which i knew would arrive,..but TODAY was the day (do you have oil in your lamp?). Blu Bexar had been acting a bit sluggish for a day or so, I noticed him at the water bowl for an hour, this was Thursday as i went to work, he was okay when i got back. then Friday i noticed his little tongue kinda barely sticking out..and his breathing was just a bit faster..I left for work and when i got back late that night...I knew something was very wrong..it was 3am , I comforted him and held him, I know i didn't sleep much that night early Saturday morning, I saw that he was having a hard time walking.... I had to find a Vet to get to see him FAST...I called my Mom , who suggested I call my cousin Julie who loves cats and ask her, she suggested SNAP , but when I got there with Blu in a blue laundry basket, the Doctor was not able to see him , so they sent me to a vet across the street,...got there CLOSED SATURDAYS! strike two, as I have my crying baby in the front seat with me..
I call my sister Sandra who says to come out to vet in Helotes, someone she knows, so of course
I start out to the country, when she rings me to inform me that the doctor had an emergency and had to leave the office...so she could not see us...WTH!!! but she suggested we head immediately
to I-10 Pet Emergency , There I go.....every light seemed like an endless stream of anxiety and the cars all seemed to purposely get in my way..as I could not get there quickly enough..THIS WAS THE 4th place....AS soon as i walked in the office , the nurse took Blu from me and took him to the doctor, they sat me in a quiet room to compose myself and the doctor came to me quickly and said that Blu was in kidney failure and needed more aggressive care. They could not promise anything
I had to let him go,,he had been with me for fifteen years and he was tired and I told him ,when I saw him.. that it was okay, that i was going to be alright , so was HE.. my sister and niece and nephew were there to help me grieve..I did get to hold BLU before the euthanasia , and tell him how much I loved him...he was ready to go, as i handed him back to the doctor, his claw stuck to my shirt
his way of saying I love you.. I LOVE YOU TOO BLUE, thank you for all he awesome memories
from the moment you showed up at my door..barely born with your eyes still closed...you see , It was 1997 and I had just accidently just run over my cat, Deedeer, with my truck, as i was going to get him food. I freaked out and my neighbors saw me, so the neighbor that worked in a Ranch in the Valley shows up at my door with two newborn kitties whom he had saved , because the mom had been killed by a predator trying to save her babies..WELL SHE DID...I remember feeding him with a tube drop , his eyes were still closed.
They both had found me ASTRO AND BLU , my babies ( I lost Astro in 2007 from a heart attack) .
these two darling animals that somehow found me, were an inspiration to me, they were stars in their own right, people loved them at the vintage store...sometimes they would ONLY come to see Astro or Blu , I got offered money..grandmas would bring their grandkids to show them the cats, tan grande que son and OH so Many pictures,,some days I had to put them away in the back because
people loved them so much , they would pick them up and kiss them and squeeze them, that after a while I would just say they were asleep in the back of the store....sorry ...if this happen to you!

I was only protecting them..Now I just remember them and know that they were my angels sent to watch over me and they still do, I have faith to believe ...
they just would get annoyed and so would I
OH yeah my barrio couture class just got cancelled today....

WOW What a night,,..... well how do you describe it? a job in a bar, as a bartender you see people change their demeanor as the alcohol seeps and creeps into the blood stream and they change into more aggressive assertive characters who could less , the liquor lets people get away with stuff, because everyone is drinking and having a fun time the common rule is, closeness to others is expected , I work at a very small bar called Salute on the famed St. mary's strip, with a small tight gritty stage that almost seems too small to host a band , but musical legends have riden that stage to super-star status,such as Esteban Jordan, Flaco Jimenez, and many other who have played their magic and tonight was no exception..new younger musicians to older seasoned veterans of the scene , all jamming together

dj Plata spinning vinyl and Sam's band, it was a very busy crowded night early on from the beginning ...a younger latino crowd seem to be the our audience tonight..quite a bit of family as well here to support their offspring , moms and dads , the band had the crowd going strong we were serving some serious alcohol from tequila shots to margaritas to jack and coke..miller light please 4 more!!
then out of nowhere a huge ruckus started and been people were throwing punches, a small latino who we had serving all night budweiser beer and shots of tequila apparantly had been acting like a fool the whole time he was there, annoying the other patrons and drunks ,,,,at the time we did not know.
that he was pushing them and drinking their beer, but he was ordering for twoat the bar, he was the nicest man, by evening asking 3 white guys from Missippii, who had been supposedly been rude to azneth the owner , when they were all at the bar ordering cocktails He turned to them and he made them apologize then turned around and said to her, te lo juro! that when he was around no one was going to disrespect her! around him.
oh really,,, so you start a fight in her bar and send people scattering to the floor, I saw someone's mother being thrown to the ground, it was not nice , a total out brawl, that one guy i mentioned got it good from several of the other patrons there they were punching on him pretty hard and kicking him to, along with Teresa the drunk girlfriend of the leader of the band...who was at the center of the whole incident...just to see her crying at the end of the night for totally other reasons than what happened to her on her birthday party..she was dragged on the floor as well and hit in the hand by all the people that entered into the brawl free for all!!!
no one really got hurt, it was more of a family that likes to fight, turns out the guy that got jumped is a friend of the lead singer of the band, Sam and his girlfriend or x"s family invited that guy to the show, only to kick his ass..it seemed planned.....pues who knows?

My spring/summer collection for 2012 debuted this past saturday " GLYPH con la raza cosmica" at Una noche de la Gloria's "Runway En la Calle" in the historic westside of San Antonio, Texas.
As producer of this event for the last three years, it has been rewarding to showcase local designers at the entry level as well as mid-career designers looking for larger exposure, and some of us who have been at for over 13 years, still reaching our core audience and expanding to new levels. This industry is ever-growing and expanding to include people of color. the event was a success for all the designers involved..It has turned into a show like no other runway show in the country. Oh yeah we were the "unofficial" kick-off to Fashion Week in San Antonio, which offically kicks off today "San Antonio Fashion Week 2011". I Have NOTHING to present for this week ,cause it is so political and to me my art can not be compromised..
My next fashion event is scheduled for Oct 29th & 30th "Agosto Cuellar's 'Fieles De Las Catrinas"

yesterday so such a beautiful day , my daytime gig, music curator of new indie music, was in full effect.
the response was incredible, people/patrons were digging the sounds and all the new music.
to make the afternoon extra special , the mimosas were never-ending, the atmosphere was perfect outdoors

Got to hang out with M. bailey and he is providing some beats for me for my runway show in OCTOBER
it's fashion week, the first week of next month and the show I produce "Runway en La Calle" is set to roll-out
when people find out I am a designer (especially straight guys) They always ask if I need dressers to help the girls in and out of their clothes, well last night I got a new one , this young dude asked me if I needed a
"boobie tester" haha silly boys.

Watch it..!! the fifth episode of JIVETOWN , the web-series based on the antics and characters of the vintage store Jive Refried, in Southtown /King William, the ARTS district in San Antonio, Texas..With one more episode to air this thursday , it will round out the first season . And that's where we/I stand. Things have been quick and strange, productive and yearning..my collection for 2012 "Glyph" is way behind track , my life has demanded more of my time and my work has taken a hit, But the show must continue and the Una Noche de La Gloria " Runway en La calle" is set to happen October 8th on the historic westside of San Antonio, my beloved city of Artist I will provide images and info on that,. in future posts.

This is day number 5, On thursday my landlady , officially had papers delivered to me which stated that i was being evicted from that day I would have 3o thirty days to vacate the premise..I signed OFF!
We had surpassed Just being a vintage store. We were an art space, for artists who have talent and no venues to exhibit in, we were a resource for fashion designers , the trend-setter's "secret must stop spot ", a go-to for an instant fashion pulse update, under the radar and in Pages of ELLE (march 2005).
I have so much to write about but that can wait for a minute as i gather my life up and regroup from.. this...Carlos,.I saw him today for a brief moment and " say shorty, you still in this deal"
Change is here and I can know cause Im smack in the middle....

Yes..We got David, hot off his recent show,Cutting the Surface, at the Hausman Millworks.
H e had taken over the Art window here at JR/jive refried. by applying sparay paint to the glass
using the various designs from those plastic dollies, every grandmother had as we recall.
I love the raw simplicity yet the commanding precence. these are just images of David
installing and his show opens this First Friday..If you find yourselve in these here parts,,do drop inn.

Interesting week so far, one of my investors was a bit concerned about his investment...ME
we had a interesting discussion and we both sleep on it. the following morning we spoke again.
Glad to say, that they plan on continuing to work with me and my team. Very relieved feeling is good thing, now I can continue my production of my Spring/Summer 2011 collection FAKE EMPIRE.
Today I took test shots of my other male model A. Serrato, with all his tattoos and attitude
this is part of the new print campaign for JRMENS collection. long tanks and tees.
